
Construction Management means the overall planning, coordinating and control of a project from the starting to end day of its completion. It is also known as Construction Project Management. The place of work is called construction industry and it is composed of five sectors- residential, commercial, heavy civil, industrial, and environmental.
Studying this field will prepare students to understand, manage and control the projects in the construction industry. A construction manager is a person who carry out these projects and his duties includes- planning, directing and coordinating activities on construction sites, overseeing project design, hiring and supervising workers, choosing contractors, and monitoring supplies. They are the one who prepare budgets and the progress reports in their work.
Basically they do not do any real/actual construction but are responsible for the other management activities taking place on the work field. They are responsible for construction sites 24 hours a day.
