Uber was also using one of the most popular silicon valley chat apps HipChat to provide the employees a good channel to communicate within the workspace.

But, The Uber doesn't seem to like the way HipChat was serving, the company was not happy with its performance.

Uber started building the alternative for the HipChat two years ago when finally realized its employees need better chat application.

The internal chat app built by the Uber is named uChat by its developers.
