3 Signs Your Tech Startup Is in Need of Outsourcing

Many large companies across the world have everything they need to finance departments that are going to deal with their day-to-day operations. However, if you’re running a startup, chances are you don’t have the finances needed to grow like large companies do. And that’s when outsourcing can be a much better choice than hiring a new employee. While it’s quite obvious when an internal hire is a right choice, a lot of rookie entrepreneurs don’t know when to outsource. That said, we’ve come up with 3 signs that will tell you your startup is in need of outsourcing.

Hiring a new employee is impractical

No matter what kind of startup you are, hiring a new employee full-time because they have one special skill can be quite impractical. For example, if you’re starting a marketing campaign for your business, hiring a full-time marketer isn’t always the right solution. This is the case because they won’t be able to help in any aspect of your business other than marketing. In a situation like this, handing over your marketing demands to a third party is a much better idea. This doesn’t necessarily apply only to startups since even some major corporations like Guardian Newspaper from Great Britain have decided to outsource significant parts of their marketing in 2010.

The task is only temporary or it recurs in cycles

Usually, you’ll think about hiring a new employee when you need someone to perform a new task for your startup. However, if that task is only temporary or it recurs in cycles, hiring someone full-time may not be the right move. For example, if you’re running a retail business you don’t really need an IT specialist since the only services you’re in need of are checking on your servers and performing regular backups. In this case, hiring a new employee just isn’t cost-effective, since you’ll be spending more on the new employee’s downtime than on the time they spend working. On the other hand, there are companies offering IT services that are only going to charge you for the work they do. These are usually one-time-jobs such as designing a website for your startup or updating your existing website.

The job will cost you too much time and energy

Sometimes, there will be tasks you can do yourself but they would cost you too much time and energy. Let’s say you want to tackle bookkeeping on your own – the job would require too much time and even the tiniest miscalculation can make you start all over again. Not to mention that most of the business owners don’t really have enough time to manage their books. However, bookkeeping isn’t the only job that gets outsourced due to the reasons mentioned above. Customer support is another task that demands a lot of time and energy, and outsourcing it is a great idea. You can even turn to a company that’s miles away from you and still get the job done. For example, you can find a company providing outsourcing in Jordan that will provide you with a team specialized in customer support.

As mentioned above, outsourcing is not the best solution for everyone. There are plenty of large businesses out there who are capable of hiring a full-time employee who’ll manage their books or come up with marketing ideas for their business. But if you’re just starting up and your business is still growing, outsourcing services like this will help you fill in the gaps and keep your new startup afloat.
