Guide To Adding LED Lights On Your PC

Adding additional LED to your CPU can drastically improve the appearance of your PC, especially if you have a glass panel cabinet. Gaming PC tends to have cool RGB setup, and illuminating hardware makes it much more eye pleasing.

Still adding some additional lighting to your computer CPU can make a noticeable difference in the ambiance of your setup. If you are looking for some means to include LED lighting to your computer, then you can refer to the tips given below to make your PC much more appealing.

  • Fist remove the side panel of your computer cabinet
  • Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from your back panel.
  • Now slide the unscrewed side panel and remove it.
  • Carefully analyses the interior openings of your computer cabinet and decide where you want to place the LED lighting.
  • After determining the adequate location, bring some paper towels and soak it with the alcohol solution.
  • Now use the wet paper towel to thoroughly clean the surface of the designated place where you want to put LED.
  • Then you are required to measure the entire length of the area where you wish to put the LED lighting.
  • Now cut the LED strips as per your measurements and then peel the strips from the back to stick them in a designated place in the cabinet.
  • After that cut the appropriate length of wire to link the LED lights in series. Leave some addition wire length while cutting as later you will have to peel some wire to remove insulation covering.
  • Then use a soldering gun to pair the cables with the LED strip. Ensure the cables are connected to correct (+/-) ends to avoid short-circuit.
  • After that, use the hot glue to properly place the wire in the cabinet and avoid them to stick with fans and motherboard.
  • Now peel the two wires at the end of the LED and insert them into MOLEX connector. The wire with yellow color is of 12V, and the black wire is ground.
  • Repeat the process for all the LED strips and connect them to the single hub to establish a secure connection.
  • Then use some electrical tape to secure various open wired connections to avoid sparking and short-circuit.
  • Now use the MOLEX connector and place it to the vacant male MOLEX adaptor at the power supplying unit to provide power to your LED strips.
  • Turn on your CPU, and the LED lights should turn on with the computer.

Hopefully, you will easily add LED lighting to your computer by correctly following the steps given above.
