Local Packaging Supplies in NZ Location

Types of packaging supplies and how they are different all over the world (packaging supplies nz different from Aus)

Have you ever packaged foods? A gift maybe? Let’s talk about packaging supplies in NZ, actually let's talk about packaging supplies all over the world. You'd be forgiven for thinking of plastic as the default packaging material or cardboard as those are pretty popular, but there is so much more to that and I'd like to discuss the types of packaging supplies.

You probably are aware of this but packaging does play an important role in sales. If its shiny, people are attracted to it a lot more and that's why cover art is important for movies and video games. I suppose that isn't directly a part of packaging if you think about it but here we are going to concentrate on food packaging and the materials used.

1. Plastic bags

The most basic, everyone knows about this of course but I bet you didn't know that packaging supplies NZ no longer consist of single use plastic bags since the beginning of this year. They aren't the only country banning it though, even China has introduced a bill that requires you to pay 10000 yuan in case you get caught using a plastic bag, not a big fine for the environment I suppose.

2. Cellophane bags

Cellophane is derived from plants' cellulose and is bio degradable so you can actually destroy it unlike plastic. These are the transparent bags that tear if you stretch them, true cellophane bags tear, the fake ones do not. Yes, there are fake cello bags, they are made up of polypropylene, a polymer that is not bio degradable

3. Aluminium foils

Hot food, you pack them in aluminium foils but I bet you already knew that. What you didn't know (or maybe you do) is that aluminium foils are actually the safest way to pack foods, as in safest for the environment of course.

4. Paper bags

Paper bags are used in countries like India and Sri Lanka to pack fried foods, the paper doesn't soak up the oil very well but I bet nobody really cares, the food's good.

On a side note, New Zealand has loads of packaging supply companies and ironically, none of their websites seem very packaged. “Packaging supplies nz” will get you maybe three relevant results and five ads which are relevant if you’re actually looking for a company and not writing an article like me.
