Meanwhile, gold futures prices actually edged up 0.2% to U.S.$ 1,492.20 per ounce.
"Gold is not moving on the fundamentals of gold, it moves on no matter what happens with the trading situation.
The trade deal is less detail, but will still be sufficient to may support risky assets, and it will be negative for gold," said analyst OANDA Jeffrey Halley.

There is no avoidance on risk assets today, ”said Bob Haberkorn, a markets strategist senior at RJO Futures.
There needs to be a statement of The Federal Reserve's reduction of interest rates or something that will happen at the trade talks.
