The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will celebrate its 70th anniversary by presenting 'The Platinum Edition'

Next year, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, recognized by its fans as the largest military show in the world, will celebrate its 70th anniversary of the best musicians in the British army.

Tattooing, one of the most iconic events of Edinburgh's festival season, will feature the platinum theme to celebrate the history of the UK as a maritime nation and the crucial role played by the Royal Navy. Tattoo fans who want to join this iconic festival can buy Edinburgh Military Tattoo Tickets from our most consistent and unfailing online platform.

After the Second World War, each capital city was asked to organize an event to boost the country's morale. In 1950, Edinburgh organized the first military tattoo.

More than 1,000 musicians from the world of forces will perform a unique show, an eclectic mix of international performances on the castle plaza.

At the launch of 'The Platinum Edition' at Ross Bandstand, the site of the first Tattoo performances, Brigadier General Director and Producer David Allfrey MBE said:

Platinum is your 70th-anniversary gift - it's an amazing item that melts 700 degrees warmer than gold or silver. It is an excellent catalyst in chemical reactions, as is the Tattoo.

"We are specialized in bringing people together ... in the context of Edinburgh Castle."

From the show itself, he revealed: We promise to bring together all the traditional elements of the Massed Pipes and Drums, including our own Pipers Trail, Massed Military Band, Hjaltibonhoga's sweet music, Tattoo Dance Company's energy and athletics, and individual and professional talent Lone Piper Atmosphere.

He added, "All this with a huge score, advanced sound technology, lighting, projections, and world-class special effects."

Next year will also mark the last year for Brigadier Allfrey. After almost ten years at the head of the event, he will retire in December 2020. The 2020 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will take place from August 7th to 29th.
