Where to start learning to photograph?

Where to start learning to photograph?

If you start your adventure with photography it is very important that you know where to start learning photography from. I am writing about three important things you should know before you start your adventure with photography.

First of all...

If you're starting your adventure with photography, invest. But not in equipment! Only in yourself. Invest in your knowledge. Continue to learn and develop. Read, look at photos of masters of photography.

If you want to be good at something (and you want to take great pictures, don't you??) then you have to spend some of your time and energy on it.

Secondly...

If you already have a camera, please read its user manual.

It is a cliché, but unfortunately not many people bother with it. And the truth is that if you don't get to know the basic functions of your camera, you won't be able to use its full potential. Changing your camera for the better will not help.

It is very important that you know the "buttonology" of your camera.

There is probably no worse thing if you don't know which button on the body of your camera to choose to change a particular setting. This is especially true for SLR cameras and advanced compacts when you manually set all or most parameters.

It is very important that you know, for example:

- how to change the shooting mode,

- how to change the ISO parameter,

- measuring the light,

- set the white balance etc.

This is very important because sometimes the opportunity can literally fly by your nose.

Thirdly...

Put everything you learn into practice.

Unfortunately, I must disappoint you. Just reading hundreds of books or participating in many photo courses will not change anything if you do not use it in practice. So read and learn and then take the camera in your hand and go outdoors!
