Surface Mount PolySwitch Resettable Fuse, bussmann fuses
A resettable fuse, also known as a PPTC or polymeric positive temperature coefficient fuse, is a fuse that trips when the flow of current received is more than the amount that can be managed by the device or wiring.
Transient voltage, What is a transient voltage suppressor diode circuitA TVS diode, or transient voltage suppression diode, is an electrical device which is designed to divert or shunt voltage spikes from a circuit in order to protect that circuit.
TVS diodes are also used to protect circuits from electrostatic discharge.
Silicon-avalanche diodes (SAD) and Zener diodes are the common types of circuit protection diodes used in TVS applications.
