How to Remove Smell from Shoes

We all wear shoes every day, and foot sweat is very common amongst all. Some of us have odorless sweat, and some of us do get odor sweat. However, changing shoes every so often is not a good idea, so the question arises, how to remove the smell from shoes? In this article, we will give you all the possible tricks that you can use to get rid of foul smell from shoes.

  • Look For Cause- The first thing to do is examine the cause behind smelling shoes. It might be any reason, but the most obvious one would be toxic sweat.

  • Changing insoles- The next thing one can do is rather change the whole shoe; one can easily change the insoles of the shoe. Insoles are the ones that accumulate smell in them and then cause a foul smell for a longer time. So, you can easily get them from a shoe store and change them for fresh shoes.

  • Moisture- Moisture is very common; it can be because of water, humidity or sweat. If you leave the moisture without drying it off completely, then it can make your shoes smell bad. In such cases, use a hairdryer or heater and dry out the shoes completely.

  • Freeze- Freezing your shoes is the next thing you can do. Take a plastic bag, wrap your shoes in it and place it in the freezer for some hours. After some hours your shoes will get fresh as new.

  • Baking Soda For The Rescue- If the above trick fails, take some baking soda and put it in your shoes generously. Let the baking soda soak all the smell overnight for the best results.

  • Orange Peels- Orange peels that you often throw into the dustbin without making most of it can be used to keep your shoes smell fresh. Take some leftover peels and place them inside the shoe overnight. Next morning you will wake up to freshness in your shoes.

  • Lemon Slices- if you don’t have orange peels, you can easily opt for lemon slices. They are easy to use and give a similar effect to orange peels. Cut the slices and place them inside the shoes overnight. After that, remove them and let the shoe dry for some time.

  • Tea Bags- Used tea bags like green tea or black tea to get rid of foul shoe smell. Keep the bag inside the shoe overnight, and you will see the change the next morning.

  • Fabric Spray- If you don’t feel like doing such homemade tricks, use Odor Neutrlizer Spray from Oh That Natural. It is just like an odor neutraliser from fabrics. It is easy to carry and a pocket-sized bottle. It is all-natural and easy to use. All you have to do is spray it on the shoes and wait for 5 minutes. After that, you are sorted.
