Types of Bearings

There are many bearing suppliers in India, using and developing all types of bearings, used for are mere necessity in regular use. Bearings are the parts that mainly assist the object's rotation and support the shaft that rotates inside machinery. Machines which use bearings include airplanes, automobiles, electric generators etc. The bearing supplier in India produces more than 12 large units which is more than 100 million each year. Understanding the requirements the bearing suppliers in India, work all year on these small parts causing large helps in different sectors. Below are the types of bearings produced by the bearing suppliers in India.

Types of Bearings:

  • Plain Bearings: This is the most basic type of bearings consisting of a flat surface without any rollers or balls. Used in furniture drawers, these often have a plain bearing on which the drawers glide back and forth, in and out. The plain bearings are like flat wheels and the other bearings are placed in between the 2 surfaces to reduce the level of friction.
  • Ball Bearings: These Ball Bearings are mainly characterized by their shape, which is circular and are housed in small balls. They reduce the level of friction while taking both the radial and axial loads off the moving part. They were invented in the late 1700s by a Welsh Entrepreneur, Philip Vaugh, who mainly filed a patent for the machinery component. Since then, these ball bearings are used and have certainly become a popular choice among the manufacturers for their high tolerance level.
  • Roller Bearings: These are also known as the rolling element bearing which is in a roller type shape containing the elements of a ball and roller fixated in a circular shaped race. The race then allows the rolling element to seamlessly roll with the weight on top of the bearing. Roller bearings are highly effective with a bearing heavy radical load format, working better than the ball bearings. Also the downside area is not that effective at bearing heavy loaded thrusting.
  • Fluid Bearings: These are specifically designed to take the load off a motion part while also being able to reduce the friction level. But unlike the other bearings that are above mentioned, these do not contain any moving ball or rolling elements. However, they do contain a liquid between the fluids creating a thin layer to which the moving part is highly exposed bearing the load. Most of the fluid bearings do contain oil and water, which are highly effective at reducing friction level.
  • Magnetic Bearings: In addition to the fluid bearings, these bearings are another very unique and all perfect alternative to traditional rolling-style bearings. Using very powerful magnets, these uplift and use magnetism bearing loads without the creation of a direct contact. These bearings are literally levitating the moving parts up into the air, allowing causing a bit or at timing no friction at all. Also, they work only when used in conjunction with ferromagnetic metals on the run.
