Before we dig deep in the guide about Dwarf Heritage Armor, let us first focus on this race’s origins through our history. It all started with some beliefs from Norse Mythology many years ago. According to these beliefs, they are more than often usually described as human-shaped entities that preferred to live in caves beneath the mountains. These creatures have a lot of knowledge in the use of blacksmithing and mining.
Now, in recent years they became famous due to a variety of fantasy-themed books and certain fantasy-inspired games. People around the world learned how to “behave” as a Dwarf when Dungeons & Dragons made these creatures as one of the primary races.
As a result, dwarves were basically featured in every video game that used Fantasy as their primary source for Lore. This is especially true in many RPGs (RolePlaying Games), where you create an avatar, add some attributes, and finish things off with a unique name. Even though their characters evolved in video games over the years, they still seemed to retain the original characteristics from the Norse Mythology era.
In World of Warcraft, they also contain their uniqueness, though, their origins are extremely peculiar.
Dwarves in World of Warcraft
In the world of Azeroth, the Dwarves originate from the Earthen, a titan-forged race that is fundamentally living stone. The Keepers, in their endeavor to make this fantasy world a better place, made different races that would work in the environment and mold advantageous areas for everyone. As you may have already guessed, the Earthen race has the unique ability to navigate the earth and construct intricate caves.
Following the betrayal of one of the Loken (one of the Keepers), all of these creations began to exhibit somewhat of a “disability.” For the dwarves, it was the Curse of Flesh, a symptom where they’d occasionally lose their stone-like original form and have soft skin instead. To prevent this transformation, the other Keepers subjected the Earthen to a hibernation process and would wake them up when the time came that the situation was resolved. Instead, they awoke beforehand, appearing now as the Dwarves that we already know.
Lastly, after the Horde invaded Azeroth and fought the First War, the Dwarves created a strong Alliance with the Humans and struggled back to keep their lands safe. To this day (last patch), they remain loyal to their allies and remain a strong pillar against the forces of the Horde. Hence, the Dwarf Heritage Armor is a “token” of their continuous involvement in the cause.
Dwarf Attributes
If you want to start playing World of Warcraft as a powerful Dwarf, you’ll receive the following advantages:
First of all, their Capital City is the prevailing Ironforge, which has its foundations beneath a giant mountain. Since its practically a cave, there’s no sunlight or climate alterations; instead, you see fire lights and lava canals all around the place.
Secondly, they have these Racial Traits:
- Explorer: You find additional fragments when looting archaeological finds and you can survey faster than normal archaeologists.
- Frost Resistance: Reduces Frost damage taken by 1%.
- Might of the Mountain: Critical strike bonus damage and healing increased by 2%.
- Stoneform: Removes all poison, disease, curse, magic, and bleed effects and reduces all physical damage taken by 10% for 8 sec.
At first, they were insanely powerful as Hunters, due to their Critical Strike bonus damage. Also, since you’ll probably have to battle against a Mage, they have the upper hand with the Frost Resistance. In contrast, though, due to the constant diversity from Blizzard’s development team, you can choose any Class and still have a great time playing with your new Dwarf.
Requirements for the Dwarf Heritage Armor
There are two essential achievements that you need to complete to have the Dwarf Heritage Armor available for your account:
- Exalted with Ironforge: Not a difficult task to complete, you can quickly become Exalted by finishing quests that are essential in the Dwarf’s Lore. At the same time, you can equip the Ironforge tabard and queue for random dungeons before hitting level 60.
- Reach Level 120: Nowadays, it is not a difficult assignment to achieve, still, though, it requires a lot of time and patience. Remember that you can use level-up boosts from that particular character if needed, the development team made this change only to the classic races.
When everything is set and done, head to the Stormwind embassy (54.57,18.18). Around the place, you’ll find an NPC (Non-Playable Character) called “Digger Golad,” who will give you the Quest “Keep Your Feet on the Ground.” After some tasks here and there, you’ll have the opportunity to retrieve the Dwarf Heritage Armor. Don’t forget that this is a Transmogrified item(s) or, in other words, cosmetic pieces. You’ll have the chance to chance any armor in the game as you level up even further.
