COVID-19 cases have not yet vanished completely, and it's important to remain vigilant in preventing the virus' spread. Wearing a mask is an additional step you should take to stay safe. Why?
This pandemic has taught us that person-to-person contact is the primary method of COVID-19 transmission. Coughing, sneezing, or talking by an infected person produces respiratory droplets that are capable of traveling up to six feet and landing in the mouths or noses of those nearby. Wearing a KN95 mask can help avoid transmission to an extent.
COVID-19 can also be spread by people who are asymptomatic and unaware that they have the virus. In order to prevent this virus from spreading, the Centers for Disease Control recommend wearing a mask or cloth face coverings. Government is quite worried about the situation and emphasizes wearing KN95 to avoid the spread of the virus.
Specialists recommend wearing a mask when indoors with others and being unable to reliably maintain the six-foot social distancing rule. An additional layer of protection is provided by a mask in these situations.
When wearing a mask or cloth face covering, you should and should not do the following:
- You want a mask without a valve or any other openings. A KN95 Face mask is the best in this concern.
- Make sure it covers your entire face, from your nose bridge to your chin, and that it is comfortable.
- Make sure it fits snugly against your cheeks and that there are no gaps in between.
- Masks are not for forehead or around your neck, they must be used properly.
- Anyone who cannot put it on their own such as children, anyone with breathing difficulties, or anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to manage a mask without assistance.
- If you breathe, cough, or sneeze into it, it may become contaminated.
- Without first washing and drying it, do not share it with anyone else in your household!
Along with this, one must also keep sanitizer packets with them to keep their hands, germs, and virus-free. Even though wearing a mask won't prevent you from getting COVID-19, it can help reduce your chances of contracting the virus. Sickness masks can help prevent the spread of germs to other people. While healthy, a mask can help prevent respiratory droplets from landing in your nose and mouth if you're around someone who's sick. As for how effective wearing a mask is, we do know that it offers some protection compared to not wearing one. When everyone wears a mask, we are all at the lowest possible risk.
