Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated annually to mark the birth of Lord Ganesha,
the God of new beginnings and a fresh start. The festival falls in the month of Bhadra, the date of the festival varies annually,
according to the Hindu calendar, and in August/September according to the Gregorian calendar. This year, the ten-day celebrations will begin on September 10.
On this day, Lord Ganesh is worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity,
and good fortune. It is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month.
Lord Ganesh is also a Vighnaharta (the one who removes obstacles), and hence he is worshipped first before initiating a new venture, work, or auspicious beginning like marriage or Griha Pravesh.
