Why the scope in electronics & communication engineering is limitless

Amongst different trades of engineering, the scope of electronics & communication engineering is quite high for decades now. It has been one of the ancient branches of engineering; still, students love to pursue their B.Tech in this specialization. After completing a degree in ECE, multiple career avenues unlock in diverse industries like Information Technology, Airlines, Telecommunication, Electronic Embedded System Design, and many more.

The electronics & communication engineers study analogue transmission, solid-state devices, basic electronics, digital & analogue communication, microprocessors, satellite communication, analogue integrated circuits, wave progression, microwave engineering and antennae under the syllabus of ECE. As stated earlier, EC graduates can explore various opportunities with rewarding career options. The designations they acquire include the following:

Service Engineer

The service engineers majorly find a place at manufacturing units and their key responsibilities are fixing the electronic faults, servicing & maintenance of equipment, strategizing preventive maintenance plans, and user manual amendments. They are the lifeblood of manufacturing units.

Network Planning Engineer

Network planning engineers work in the IT departments of almost all the organizations backed up by an IT infrastructure. Their job role involves the installation, maintenance and up-gradation of external and internal network systems. Organizations that depend on digital technologies always need network planning engineers.

Communication Engineer

Communication engineers have a crucial role in researching, designing, developing and the production of communication equipment. The service, technical expertise and devising the solutions to streamline the different modes of communication transfer or exchange come under the KRAs of communication engineers.

Telecom Engineer

The design, security, and performance of computer networks and integration of devices used in telecom services are the major responsibility of telecom engineers. Their job role involves the installation of phone systems, wireless device maintenance, outer installation, optical fiber installation, and various other allied tasks.

R&D Software Engineer

The engineers sitting in the research & development wings of software companies are called R&D software engineers. Their prime job is to test all the software and make a report that comprises all the issues & bugs in functioning. Research is the ongoing process wherein they keep researching on advancements in technology.

Software Analyst

The job nature of a software analyst is very complex but rewarding. They perform complex software analysis to confirm its suitability to meet business needs. Their job role also involves designing and programming the software as per client requirements. After designing, modifications and maintenance also come under their scope of work.

Analogue Applications Engineer

Revolutionizing the communications market by designing, building and evaluating the power systems is all possible because of the analogue applications manager. They evaluate and report board-level solutions to clients after spending time in labs. The earning potential in this field is rewarding.

Electronic Design Engineer

The electronic design experts provide electronic systems’ design and development support. They also test electronic systems to ensure their seamless performance. Also, preparing the test procedures & plans of electronic systems is one of their key responsibilities. Electronic design engineers have a big role to play in each phase of product development.

After completing your B.Tech degree as an ECE graduate, you have ample scope to prosper your career in your desired field and industry. You just need to focus and sharpen your skills in the area where you want your career to prosper.
