Travelling to and from London airports by taxi is expensive, but if you really want to save money you can look online to see who is travelling in your direction and there are services that will find you a person to share the journey and fare with

Getting to London from Heathrow Airport can be done by both public and private transport. Underground trains, surface trains, buses, taxis and more are available to take travellers to various destinations. Which mode of transport to choose for your transfer when you arrive at the airport can be very confusing.

Most people prefer the underground, commonly called the Tube. Business travellers choose the Heathrow Express to get into the city as it is fast and only takes 15 minutes. However, it is also more expensive compared to the Tube. Both private and public buses serve the airport. Overground commuter services such as Heathrow Connect are slower and do not run as regularly as the Heathrow Express.

Car hire companies offer bookings in the terminal buildings. The famous London Black Cabs queue outside all airport terminals. Private hire taxis are becoming increasingly popular as they are convenient, licensed and safe if booked in advance. The taxis can transport you to or from any destination of your choice: ports, train stations, hotels or any postcode in the UK.

If you have a busy schedule or don't want to waste your time waiting for taxis, buses or the tube. Expect to be able to travel with a degree of comfort and safety, just as you like. Private transport is just what you need. During the Christmas and New Year period, when public transport is unavailable or very limited, private taxis may be the only way to get to various destinations.
