Being a vector graphics software, Adobe Illustrator has got many powerful options to create and edit complex vector images. It comes with different types of tools and settings to perform the editing of path based graphics which we commonly call as vector images. With the help of this software, you can hide and reveal the areas of the images just like Adobe Photoshop.
Let’s get to know about this in detail.
Adobe Illustrator comes with three types of Masks in it which are:
Draw Inside: It is the option that allows you to draw images inside a particular selected object. Imagine you are drawing different circles inside a square. You will end with a kind of pattern. To use this option; click on the option circular icon given in the end of the toolbar. It will show you three options, select draw inside from them.
Clipping Mask: This is common to Photoshop users. Just draw a shape and add your image behind it. Select both and use Control key + 7 to clip the image inside a particular shape.
Opacity Mask : To use this one, add a shape and create its copy then fill black and white gradient in the copy. Now select both and go to window menu and open transparency panel from there. In the panel, click on Make Mask option. You will see a fading image of your object.
If you want to learn about these masks in detail then you must join a complete Adobe Illustrator course from a reputed training center like Graphic Design Institute which is located in New Delhi.
