Last Thursday evening, on her 45th birthday, Sinead O’Connor tied the knot with fiancé Barry Herridge, an Irish therapist, after just three months of dating. The unusual celebrity wedding was held at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the famous Las Vegas Strip.
The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer met her husband online after she asked on her blog potential suitors to apply. She received thousands of replies but selected just one man. Herridge, who works as a counselor for people with addiction problems in Dublin, sent her a wonderful e-mail before asking O’Connor the big question.
Arriving around 7 p.m., the singer known for causing controversy said “I do” in the back of a pink Cadillac convertible. Last month, a few weeks before the celebrity wedding, Justin accompanied his future bride to the CMA Awards where the country band won the award for the vocal duo of the year. Before joining Sugarland, Jennifer sang in the band Soul Miner’s Daughter and the Jennifer Nettles Band.
This summer, the country duo were thrust into the national spotlight when a stage at the Indiana State Fair collapsed due to high winds and killed 7 people while injuring many others.
