1. Language of Rig-Veda: Rig-Veda – the oldest surviving written document in the history of mankind is written in Sanskrit. The earliest form of Sanskrit language was Vedic Sanskrit or Rig-Vedic Sanskrit that came approximately around 1500B.C, a period when knowledge was imparted orally. For generations, this language was orally preserved, predating the advent of writing by many centuries and finally written down around 1500 BCE. The survived literature in this language has been instrumental in the reconstruction of Proto-Indo-European language.
2. Extremely versatile and precise Language: Sanskrit boasts one of the largest vocabularies for any language to match! You need few words to convey something in Sanskrit compares to any other modern language in the words. This is partly due to extremely structured Sanskrit grammar and partially because large Sanskrit vocabulary. The word ‘love’ has 96 synonymous in Sanskrit and a simple word like elephant has 100 synonymous! It’s a language with treasure of beautiful words and meanings. The word ‘water’ has 70 synonymous and the action ‘to go’ can be described in 122 different ways with slightly different meaning each time! Sanskrit is also a syntax-free language in which words can be positioned anywhere in the sentence without altering its meaning!
3. Phonetically accurate and clear Language: Sanskrit is most phonetically accurate language and the only language which is not open for more than one interpretation of something. In many languages, context and body language is important to understand the meaning of the sentence, not in Sanskrit! Sanskrit vocabulary uses 49 sounds that are generated from five distinct areas of the mouth, allowing phonetic accuracy. Every Sanskrit letter has a precise sound in any word it is used in, all the time! If this not a reason enough to learn a miracle called Sanskrit, we don’t know what else can be!
4. Improve ability of your brain to concentrate: apart from the fact that Sanskrit has directly or indirectly influenced 97% of total languages spoken in the world, it’s also proven to help students focus better in their study. Some of the first works to be written down on manuscripts were accounting treatises, administrative notes and land laws. Surprisingly Vedas were written down fairly late. The oldest layer of Rig-Veda dated around 1500 BCE but written down only around 5 AD during Gupta Empire, that is almost 2000 years!

Katapayadi System – the ancient Indian art of decoding: Katapayadi System is an ancient Indian alpha syllabic numeral system to depict letters to numerals for easy remembrance of numbers as words or verses. In a system meaning, it was a kind of cryptography developed in ancient India to remember the long strings of numerical formulae, mathematical functions, constants used in mathematical computations, dates corresponding to events, and so on by embedding them into prose or poetry. From famous Madhava’s Sin table to mellifluous Carnatic music, the employment of Katapayadi system was widespread in ancient Sanskrit literature. Most of the mathematical treatises written in Sanskrit were tools developed for the cosmic research and thus, extremely complex formulas coded with numbers and letters with Katapayadi system!
