New World Trades Disabled Again

New World has again disabled player-to-player transactions due to a suspected gold spoofing bug. The Amazon team took this precaution today to investigate the issue and fix it if necessary. This is because the player server transfer has just reopened and the team had to correct a mission that was incorrectly posted yesterday.

While it's unclear what caused the new gold spoofing bug, this temporary disabling of transactions is nothing new to the New World community. Amazon tried to fix the bug as soon as possible, but unfortunately in some cases, players had to wait to turn the feature back on. This is because player server broadcasting was disabled last week and only enabled again yesterday.

Today's problem occurred after yesterday's downtime and patch, but it's unclear if it's related. Update 1.2.2 was implemented to fix widely reported synchronization issues and to remove a number of tasks that were incomplete and incorrectly enabled in the December build. These quests were incomplete (they were a work-in-progress build) and, as such, lacked rewards and other aspects. If a player is able to access and complete these missions, Amazon will allow the XP and Gold earnings to be preserved, but all progress will be reset when they are officially implemented so that everyone can complete them for the correct rewards can.

As for the issue of player trading, this is a well-known route. While this is annoying for those whose game time is being impacted by the shutdown feature, it usually gets better over the time it takes to fix the problem. However, there is no anticipated time when the problem will be under control, nor are there any plans to take action to correct any adverse effects.
