

Liothyronine is a synthetically generated version of triiodothyronine (T3), a thyroid hormone produced by the thyroid gland to improve energy and metabolism in the human body. Liothyronine is used to treat hypothyroidism and in the surgical treatment of thyroid cancer patients. Liothyronine is given to patients orally after a meal, as advised by their doctor. Aside from thyroid disorders, liothyronine is used to treat Myxedema.
