Elden Ring Triples Dark Souls 3's Peak Twitch Viewer Count

Elden Ring and FromSoftware seem to be on a serious roll, as the game is leaving multiple records afterward. The most recent record Elden Ring has toppled is the peak Twitch viewership of FromSoftware games, as its peak arrived at more than triple the viewers that the company's previous games had accomplished.

While these numbers are impressive, they are not really surprising when one considers the fact that Elden Ring is currently one of the highest-rated games made. Elden Ring has had the option to outshine the tough competition that it released alongside, which included Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Horizon Forbidden West. The game currently has a Metacritic score of 97 for PS5 and 95 for PC and Xbox, which places Elden Ring 15th on the list of the site's best-inspected games of all time.

This massive amount of fanfare permitted Elden Ring to reach more than 890,000 viewers on Twitch, which meant that it currently has the highest peak Twitch viewership out of all the FromSoftware games that had released before it. The last FromSoftware game to release was Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, which peaked at 280,000 viewers, while Dark Souls 3 peaked at a viewer count of 276,000.

For many, the game has had the option to follow through on the publicity that fans had built up for the game, which is possible why a Japanese game development studio gave its employees the day away from work to play Elden Ring. A company called Pocket Pair has given its employees the vacation day to play Elden Ring on release, as the company recognized that it would be difficult for its employees to concentrate knowing they had the game at home.

Despite the game's excellent audit scores and Twitch viewer count, Elden Ring still had a couple of issues before its official launch. Thankfully, many of these issues were said to be fixed in a patch that released a couple of hours before the game came out. Elden Ring's 1.02 patch was said to fix the game's framerate issues, work on its controls, fix some NPC events, and also made some balance adjustments to the game.

Unfortunately, it also seems as though Elden Ring is struggling to arrive at 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X. While this has been disappointing for many players, it is still possible for FromSoftware to patch these issues in the coming weeks. It currently seems as though the game's framerate sits between 30-60 FPS when set to quality mode and between 45-60 FPS when in performance mode.
