The Growth and Outlook Survey by the U.S Direct Selling Association predicated a 4-7% growth for the direct distribution channel in 2021. Based on this study, direct selling distributions are expected to rise between $41.7 billion and $42.9 billion. The study was published in line with the DSA research year-to-date, public company reporting, member growth expectations, and broader retail and labor market macroeconomic indicators


The parent organization for the direct selling brand OPTAVIA, Medifast, conducted a study on the health priorities of U.S. adults. 93% of the adults in the United States have adopted health and wellness goals with 84% of them actively working on it. 76% of U.S. adults prioritize their health solely to enhance their physical and mental well-being. 40% depend on healthcare providers for support. While 78% of adults do not practice meditation or exercises, 46% resort to low-intensity workouts to achieve their wellness goals. 


The Young Living Wellness Survey, conducted across 5000 adults around the world, determined the wellness habits of consumers and the impact of COVID-19 in the changing attitudes of people on personal well-being. During the pandemic, consumers have developed the following habits:

  • Drinking coffee or tea (78%)
  • Going for walks (60%)
  • Connecting with people and pets (74%)
  • Using aromatherapy or essential oils weekly (20%)
  • Yoga (16%)
  • CBD products (12%)
  • Religious or worship activities (81% in the U.S.; 94% in the UK; 80% in Australia; 77% in Indonesia)
