Boy, I hope ya'll had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving day! Our families over at Petals Events sure did! Lots of food (I'm talking obscene amounts of course) dancing, bonfires, dessert and stories... but mainly just sitting back and relaxing!

What to Wear for Your Engagement Photography Session

In our Photo Love Monday series, I’ve covered the importance of location and lighting when looking for the perfect place for your engagement photography session.
This week, I want to discuss an often overlooked part of your engagement pictures—the type of clothes that you wear for the shoot.
Most brides-to-be look amazing for their engagement photo shoots, as do their fiancés. What I’m talking about has nothing to do with wearing dirty clothes and not brushing your hair.
It’s about taking the time to think about what your wardrobe says about you now and what it will tell others about you on your 20th anniversary.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “You are what you eat,” but have you ever heard, “You are what we see?” Probably not – I just made it up (but it does get the point across)!
Everyone talks about not judging others by their appearance, but it happens every day. The clothes that a person wears tell those that are looking at the picture something about the person in it.
The question is do you know what you want to say with your image? What do you want your engagement photos to say about you?
So, before your engagement shoot, take some time to think about what you wear before you venture out with your photographer. Before deciding on an outfit, ask yourself, “What do I want to say and do my clothes send the right message?” Then, dress accordingly.
