4 Tips to Turn On Dark Mode in Snapchat

If you love to use Snapchat at night or in low-light settings, you’ll be happy to hear that it now has an official dark mode that allows you to do just that! However, getting to this setting can be a bit confusing, especially if you don’t know what it looks like. With these instructions on how to turn on dark mode in Snapchat, you’ll have it up and running in no time! Here are the four tips needed to help you find and enable the option so that your snaps can be as clear as possible at any time of day.

1) Open Snapchat

Open Snapchat and select your Me tab. You'll see a gear icon at the top right of your screen, just below where you type messages to your friends. Tap on it, and then tap on Settings. Next, tap on Manage, followed by Additional Services. Scroll through these services until you find Dark Mode; tap on it. This will bring up a toggle button with an arrow pointing down—tap it again to turn Dark Mode on for all of your devices! That's all there is to it; when Dark Mode is turned on, everything will be dark gray instead of white. If you want things back to normal after you're done taking advantage of Dark Mode at night, just go back into Settings > Additional Services > Dark Theme.

2) Go to Settings

How to turn on dark mode for snapchat, first you’ll need to open up your Settings on your phone. To do that, go to your home screen and tap on Settings. Then scroll down until you see Snapchat and tap it. Scroll down again until you see Dark Mode and switch it from Off to On (the little white icon will turn black). That’s all there is to it! You can now see dark mode enabled whenever you access Snapchat by clicking or swiping down from the top of your screen. You can also switch back at any time by following these same steps, but switching Dark Mode off instead of on.

3) Tap Theme

Tap Theme is an app that lets you customize how your text looks by adding various different themes. You can choose one for all of your chats, or change up your theme for each individual chat. Tap Theme is available for free on both iOS and Android devices. If you aren’t already using it, start now! For example, when I use night mode snapchat but want to keep my chats light so as not to strain my eyes, I turn on Light Theme within Tap Theme and then set dark mode snapchat as my default text theme.

4) Select Dark Mode

The first thing you need to do is open up your Snapchat app. From there, click on your profile icon at the top of your screen. A menu will drop down with a list of options; select Settings from that list. On your settings page, scroll down until you see an option for Theme and click on it. Under Theme, there should be an option for Darker Theme. Tap on that button and then tap again when Darker Theme pops up under Now Playing so that it turns white and says on. Voilà! You can now start snapping away knowing you've gone
