How to make Resin MDF Wall Clock with Clock bases Kit

Hanging the clock on the wall is doesn’t just a piece of time dictator, it is a crucial art element to enhance the flavor of the interior. Have you ever noticed why the clock hanging on your home wall becomes interesting in one place and get bland in another position? Well, this is because to make an impressive wall decor, you should consider the factors of home decor i.e. place, position, and purpose. Then customize the product as per the factors.

If you are looking for a neutral yet masterpiece for a wall clock, then you can definitely try your hands on resin MDF wall decor. Here, we will discuss the comprehensive details of how to work on a resin wall clock with easy to install MDF clock bases kit.

Materials we use:

  • Plastic Sheet for work tidiness
  • Clock MDF base
  • DIY Clock-making kit (roman ring, classic hands  & clock machine)
  • Resin colors (basic colors, Metallic and pearl colors, or Neon colors)
  • Resin tint
  • Gloves
  • Flowers and foil flakes
  • Resin mixing cups
  • Stirring sticks.
  • Glue

Step 1: Keep the workplace Fuss-free

Work in a tidy and well-ventilated area. Arrange the plastic sheet or the foil on your table where you will work with your cloak-making craft. This will help you to avoid mess and stains of the resin products.

Step 2: Organize the table with a DIY clock kit and resin appliances.

You will require the complete above given materials and set in systematically on your working table. Make sure all the resin materials are kept within quick reach as this art drys pretty fast.

Note: work sufficiently fast to add better textures.

Step 3: Take the suitable MDF clock base with a clock making kit

For resing art, you need to pick the plain clock base MDF sheet. Keep the roman ring and clock machine aside for now and start working with resin colors.

Step 4: Place the resin colors near the MDF Clock base and mix your components

Wear hand gloves before starting the artwork to avoid stickiness and irritations in your hands due to colors reactions. Then, mix the proportionate resin and hardener in the finite ratio for a minimum of three minutes. Here, we are taking the MasterCast 1-2-1 and ArtResin at a 1:1 ratio. Mix them well with the help of a stirring stick to get a smooth blended texture.

Step 5: Start Pouring your colors

Now, pour the first transparent layer onto the base of the MDF clock. Here you can also use a resin cake stand to maintain the gap in the hole. Though we are not using any here. Further, you can start pouring resin colors from light to dark layer by layer on the base.

Note: if you are making the floral resin clock, add your flowers or petals after the second layer. Then again add one transparent layer to your favorite colors.

Step 6: Its time for the final touch to resin

After the final layer, add golden foil flakes or any of your choices to the last layer and insert them lightly with the help of a stirring stick or toothpick. Then again pour a plain resin layer to give the product a glossy finishing. Now take any sufficient stick and place it in the center hole to maintain the clock machine gap.

Now let it dry completely for at least 24 hours.

Step 7: Complete the clock with Clock making materials

Once the resin is dried completely, attach the roman ring to the MDF clock base with the help of glue. Install the clock machine and hands and your DIY Resin wall clock is ready to glorify your interior.
