How to Send Your IELTS Score to Universities?

So you passed the IELTS exam. You're confident that you did a good job. So, what's next? What should you do after you've completed the test? How do you send your IELTS score to colleges?

After taking the exam, you will receive your results on an IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) 13 days later. One week after the test, you can check your test results on the IELTS website. In this blog, we will discuss how to send IELTS score to universities.

Here's how it's done:

  • Go to the website - it will be different depending on whether you took the IELTS with the British Council or with IDP.
  • Click "Find/Search" after entering your information (name, date of birth, passport number, and candidate number).

Please keep in mind that these are your preliminary test results.

How to send IELTS test results to universities?

You will receive one TRF for personal use and up to five additional TRFs to send to universities and scholarship organisations of your choice. While registering or after receiving your scores, you can choose any five receivers (universities/scholarship bodies) for these five TRFs.

Recommended IELTS score reporting procedure:

Here's how it works. If you choose the first option, the university may receive your grades before you. And that may be frightening. That's why, at IELTSmaterial, we advise you to use the second option so you know what score you're sending.

Keep in mind that all of this will occur within one month of the test being completed.

All about IELTS TRF:

You can't copy or tamper with your own TRF because it's protected by a security mechanism. The method of submitting your score (by mail, courier, or electronically) differs by university.

If you want to submit your result to more than five schools, you can request extra TRFs (ATRFs) more than one month after taking the test.

Here's how much you'll have to spend to mail your TRFs:

  • Sending them by post (Airmail): Sending an additional TRF to each university will cost INR 400. The British Council and IDP are not responsible for the completion of each form. This is an option that we do not suggest.
  • Sending them by courier: Each ATRF costs INR 1500 to send by courier. You will receive a tracking number once a form has been despatched, allowing you to trace the report at any time.
  • Electronically transmitting them: If you pick the electronic mode, the first five TRFs are free. After that, for each Additional TRF(ATRF) you request for, you will be charged INR 250. This is the most suitable option.
