Ukrainians who want to visit Canada for a short period of time will be able to obtain a Canada-Ukraine Emergency Travel Authorization (CUAET). This novel approach aims to make the immigration process more accessible by eliminating several standard visa requirements.
Ukrainians and their immediate relatives, regardless of ethnicity, will be allowed to stay in Canada for up to three years after passing a background and security check, including biometrics. The number of Ukrainians who can apply for this programme is not limited. A visa application for a visitor must be submitted online.
Biometric data can be provided at any Visa Application Centre (VAC) located outside of Ukraine, including Moldova, Romania, Austria, and Poland.
How Can Ukrainians Immigrate to Canada?
While applying for a visa, candidates should apply for a three-year open work permit, according to the Canadian government. This one-of-a-kind programme will waive the majority of the standard requirements for a visiting visa or work permit.
Primary and secondary school students can enrol and begin school immediately after arriving in Canada, and post-secondary students can apply for a study permit upon arrival.
Applicants who do not have a valid passport may apply, and IRCC will provide a single voyage travel document if necessary.
