What clothes are profitable to sell?

As you know, clothing is included in the group of essential goods, as well as food and a number of other groups. This means that people will always buy clothes, regardless of their place of residence, economic situation, crises, etc. However, this does not mean that it is profitable to sell any clothes, given the variety that exists in this group of goods, as well as competition, this business can be low profitable, if not completely unprofitable.

In order for the profitability to be high, you need to pay attention to two factors - the target audience and competition. Popular clothing has a very large target audience, but the competition is also not small. But if you sell clothes that no one else sells, it is likely that there will not be so many who want to buy them.

It turns out a double-edged sword, but what to do? Firstly, you need to study competitors and offer customers something that is not sold in other stores. For example, men's shirts like this one are quite unusual and will almost certainly be in demand. Secondly, it is necessary to objectively take into account the capabilities of buyers, which means that in a small town there is no point in opening an elite clothing store, which costs an order of magnitude more expensive.

Selling clothes in a crisis

In a crisis, people try to optimize their costs, this also applies to clothing. It can be divided into three main segments - the elite, the middle price segment and the lower price segment. There is no point in talking about elite clothes, in fact, someone who can buy a dress for 100 thousand or a shirt for 20 thousand is not particularly worried about the crisis. For such people, a price increase of 20-40 percent means little.

The situation in the other two segments is much more interesting. It is logical to assume that the middle one will lose, while the lower one, on the contrary, will gain. This statement is true, however, only partly. The thing is that people have now begun to understand that by buying clothes that are more expensive, but of better quality, they end up saving. Therefore, in times of crisis, people will look much more closely at quality, although the middle price segment in terms of sales will still lose.

It is likely that sales of certain types of clothing will grow, for example, men's tracksuits, such as here, because these are versatile clothes that can be used not only for sports, but also in everyday life, which just correlates with savings: why buy several items of clothing, if you can buy one tracksuit.

In general, it can be argued that in the near future clothing sellers will not have the easiest times, but they should not worry too much about this, because this business has simply never been. First of all, you should look at your assortment, at the assortment of competitors, and after that make a conclusion about the advisability of finding new suppliers or decide that this is not required.
