VELA Hijab Dress For Wedding Party Online Shop

A beautiful hijab dress can make the occasion more special when planning your wedding. The Vela label supports charities and stories about Muslim women. Creative collective Muslim Sisterhood co-founder Lamisa Khan is the inspiration behind the label's designs. She also works as the Community and Culture executive for Digital Fairy. She enjoys cooking comfort food and logging 10k steps a day.

Atik Sabri

Atik Sabri started making hijabs in her parents' garage when she was 14. She named her company "Vela" for a Latin word that means "veil." Her dresses are different from traditional, loose hijabs because they have patterns, ornamentation, and a unique way of tying the fabric. Currently, she sells her designs exclusively online but hopes to expand into retail stores and market to non-Muslim women.

The company's first fabric pattern was inspired by the hatta, a traditional head covering worn by Palestinian, Jordanian, and Syrian women. Vela uses quality cotton fabric that is produced in India. Vela's overall production goal is to sell more than 500 scarves monthly. Atik Sabri hopes to grow to a large scale in the future, eventually selling to department stores and boutiques worldwide.

Louella

Last winter, Louella published a catalog with 52 items. In the first six months of the year, they sold 3,000 pieces online and almost $250,000 in sales. Despite their success, the sisters do not yet have any big-name celebrity clients. However, they hope to see First Lady Michelle Obama and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousfzai wearing their designs. Thanks to the growing demand for hijabs, that dream is becoming a reality.

While Muslims constitute a large population, they are underrepresented in mainstream fashion stores and may struggle to dress traditionally. Ibtihaj Muhammad was a young Muslim woman who found it challenging to shop in mainstream stores. As a fencer in the United States, she was frustrated with the lack of high-quality, affordable clothing for Muslim women. So, in 2014, she created an online shop for women with modest dresses.

VELA's instant scarf

The VELA's instant scarf for hijab dress for a wedding party is an excellent addition to any traditional Muslim wedding gown, whether worn by a bride or a groom. Designed by a young Muslim woman from the O.C., Vela scarves incorporate Western fashion into the traditional hijab. They have ruffles and pleats and even beaded sequins.

A VELA scarf can be worn with any outfit to add an extra dose of flair to your attire. The VELA instant scarf comes in 8 colors: True White, Night Black, Smoky Silver, Dark Chocolate, Mocha Mushroom, Rosewater, Crema, and Dried Lime. While many hijabs are suited to wedding parties, many women prefer to wear them to a wedding.

Silq Rose lavender hijab

If you are looking for a chic hijab dress for a wedding party, you might want to consider a chiffon silk one. Made from 100% silk and non-slip, this dress is easy to arrange and wear. It is also soft to touch. Hand-dyed by artisans in a sustainable and fair trade fashion, it is available in 12 different colorways.

VELA's fabric pattern

Marwa Atik, a young Muslim woman from Utah, noticed a lack of stylish hijabs and decided to make one herself. The hijabs she makes are different from traditional, loose hijabs because they feature patterns, ornamentation, and a unique way to tie. Though they are currently sold online, Vela plans to expand their business by opening stores and attracting non-Muslim women to buy them.

Vela's first fabric design will be unveiled soon and feature a print on the hijab, called "hatta." The print is common among Palestinian, Jordanian, and Syrian women. The hijab dress will be made in India, a country known for its high-quality cotton fabric. The company has plans to double its overall production, but for now, it will have to make do with 500 scarves per month.
