I never stopped being a kid at heart, and that's why Pokemon has always been one of my favorite franchises.

And as an adult, I appreciate all of the references and nods to Japanese culture even more than I did when I was younger. It's fascinating to me how such a simple concept can be explored in so many different ways and still hold my attention after all these years.

The Interesting Part
I really enjoy the competitive aspect of playing Pokemon. I love having intense battles with players all over the world via Battle Spot. It forces me to think, weigh risks, make estimates, etc. I wonder if I'll be 50 and still in love with Pokemon. I hope so! I've been playing for almost 20 years now, and it's been a huge part of my life. I don't see myself ever getting tired of it. There's always something new to learn, and new challenges to keep me engaged.
Even if I'm not the very best player in the world, I still get a lot of satisfaction out of testing my skills against others and seeing how far I can push myself.
