Busting Top 5 Common Myths on Indian Attar

Ittar is the most precious oil in the world. It is extracted from various flowers, roots, and herbs by a process called enfleurage. Since this technique was first used to make attar in Kashmir, it has become synonymous with high-quality fragrances made here. However, there are several myths surrounding ittar that need to be cleared up so that you can buy your bottle with confidence!

Kashmiri Attars are not Pure

Some people believe that Kashmiri attars are not pure, but in fact contain synthetic compounds. This is incorrect. In fact, all of the ingredients used to create these scents are natural and come from flowers found in Kashmir's beautiful valley.

These attars were created by artisans who have been creating them for generations. Their methods of extraction and production have remained unchanged over time—so much so that these perfumes remain true to their original form for hundreds of years!

High Quality and Expensive Attar are Always the Best

Many people believe that higher-quality attar is better, but this is not always the case. The quality of an attar depends on two factors:

  • The quality of its ingredients and
  • How the ingredients are processed.

Since attar is made from plants, their freshness and purity directly affect the final product's quality. The same principle applies when it comes to price—some oils can cost a fortune because they contain expensive ingredients like silver leaves or rare rose blossoms; however, this doesn't necessarily make their high-quality products.

Everyday body Oils and Moisturizers can Replace Attar

The first myth is that oil is the same as attar. While they are both used to moisturize and nourish the skin and hair, they have very different compositions. While body oils contain mostly vegetable or plant oils like coconut or almond oil, attar contains a base of essential oils which are often derived from flowers.

The aroma of these products is also very different: whereas body oils smell similar to their main ingredient’s scent, pure oud attars have a strong floral undertone that can be hard for some people to enjoy at first but develops into something quite unique over time.

Lastly, because of their composition and fragility, attars should only be applied with a few drops onto pulse points like wrists and behind ears instead of massaged all over the face as you would do with regular lotion – this makes them much less versatile than your usual moisturizer!

Attar is used only for Fragrance

You might think that attar is only used for fragrance, but you’d be wrong. In fact, there are many different uses for attar that go beyond scenting your body and hair. While it may seem like a luxury item, attar has been used for centuries as part of the medicinal tradition in India and Pakistan.

It’s also part of Ayurveda and Unani (a form of traditional Arabic medicine). Aromatherapists love to use the best essential oil scents because they can help people feel better physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Attar is one such essential oil that can be used in meditation practices as well as other wellness rituals.

Rose Attar can be used for Making Baked items

You can use rose attar in baked items and chocolate, but it is not edible. Original rose attar is made of concentrated petals and oils, so while the fragrance of roses will be present, you won't find any actual rose petals in the end product.

The only way to ingest rose attar is to add it to your food or drink—which isn't recommended since there aren't any known health benefits associated with doing so. However, using rose attar in baked goods does provide a delicious scent and flavor!

Conclusion

We hope that this article has cleared your doubts and was successful in debunking the myths about Attar. Now you can go ahead and try out some of the best attars in India to enhance your mood. Attars are heavenly fragrances; you can use them to give a luxurious touch to your lifestyle.
