What are the various Parts Of Power Supply Boards And Their Functions?

There are various components to basic power supplies. These parts assist the device in stepping up or down voltage, converting power, and reducing ripple voltages, which are lingering changes in voltage that waste energy and cause overheating.

  • Transformer: This device converts the input voltage to the required exiting voltage level. The voltage may be stepped up or lowered by these devices. Usually, the required DC voltage is considerably lower than the incoming AC voltage from the main power source.
  • Rectifier: The power supply uses a rectifier, which could be a half-wave, full-wave, or bridge device, to change the incoming power from AC to DC.

Electronic components required- 

  • The ATX power supply, which you can buy used or take from an old computer (most of them still function), delivers all the fundamental voltages that we'll need: 3.3V, 5V +12V.
  • Booster DC-DC 100W, 6A (5V Into 35V out) (You are welcome to use a better one; that was the best I could locate close by.)
  • XL6009 DC-DC Booster, 4A (3V in to 35V out)
  • Female USB ports two (or just use one from old devices as I did)
  • ON/OFF Switch
  • six red banana connectors and six black banana connectors
  • Three potentiometers, each with a 50 Kohm cap.
  • 220-ohm resistor with a green LED
  • Voltmeter and Ammeter, 2x DC 100V
