A qualification equivalent to an AQF Bachelor Degree or higher with an ICT Minor


If done a course with an ICT Minor not closely related to the Software Tester 261314 occupation, meet the requirements:


5 years of related work experience you earned in the past 10 years is a must; or


You need 6 years of relevant work experience you earned anytime in your previous work history


If completed a course with an ICT Minor not closely relevant to the occupation, ACS skill assessment requirements are:


You must have a minimum of 6 years of related work experience that you earned in your previous work history

 

Qualification equivalent to an AQF Diploma or Vendor Certification


If having done a course with an ICT Major closely related to this occupation, meet the following requirements:


In this case, you need relevant work experience of 5 years you earned within the past 10 years; or


You must have related work experience of 6 years earned anytime in your previous work history


If having done a course with an ICT Major not closely relevant to the occupation, meet the requirements:


In this case, you need related work experience of 6 years you earned anytime in your previous work history.


RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) is also acceptable for ACS assessment.


If having a non-ICT qualification equivalent to an AQF Diploma or higher, meet the requirements listed below:


You need 6 years of related work experience that you earned anytime in your previous work history. In addition, you need an RPL application.


If without a tertiary qualification but work experience only, meet the requirements below:


You need 8 years of relevant work experience and an RPL application for an ACS IT skill assessment.


Remember: An RPL application needs you to demonstrate the way you earned your ICT knowledge. For that, it is a must for you to submit 2 Project Reports with this application.


The below-provided Vendor Certifications are acceptable for the assessment, as ACS finds them equivalent to an AQF Diploma level qualification:

Australian qualifications with accreditation from ACS have a high chance of satisfying the ICT Major Criteria. However, it may happen that ACS doesn’t assess them as being closely related to the occupation you chose. Therefore, ensuring you nominate a correct occupation is a must for you.


The assessment authority will count employment you completed after the date of fulfilling the ACS Suitability Criteria as Skilled Employment. In other words, pre-qualification employment will not be taken into consideration.


English language assessment criteria for Software Tester 261314:


Attain an IELTS result with at least a score of 6 (R, W, L), 7 in speaking and 7 overall;


Achieve an OET result with at least a grade of B in all sections;


Have PET Academic with a minimum score of 50 (R, W, L), 65 in speaking and 65 overall;


Attain TOEFL iBT with at least a score (W: 21, L: 12, S: 23 overall L93);


Exceptions:

  • Priority Skilled Lists may apply to a particular need in some territories/states.
  • Australian graduate exceptions apply in some territories/states.
  • The countries that are exempt from the submission of IELTS or OET are the UK, the USA, New Zealand, and Ireland.

 

Where mandatory licensing or registration is a must, demonstrate a level of English either:

  • Sufficient to fulfill licensing/registration,
  • Or a minimum IELTS or equivalent, whichever is higher
