A provider that offers an integration platform to assist firms integrate their on-premises and cloud-based resources is MuleSoft. To facilitate the creation, administration, and testing of the APIs that underpin these interconnections, the business provides the Anypoint Platform.

In May of 2018, Salesforce, another SaaS company, bought MuleSoft. The Salesforce Integration Cloud now

incorporates MuleSoft technology.

Components

The MuleSoft Anypoint Platform provides a wide range of resources, such as:

  1. A developer may use API Designer, a web-based graphical tool, to create an API, document it, and then share it with other members of the development team. Certain parts of an API, such the security schema, may be reused at the developer's discretion.
  2. The Application Programming Interface (API) Manager provides a unified interface for managing and securing APIs across a variety of different gateways. This feature of the Anypoint platform allows administrators to restrict user access to APIs, establish encrypted connections to back-end data sources, and set limits on the number of API requests or the amount of time they may take.
  3. To deploy APIs to on-premises and cloud settings, developers may utilise Anypoint Studio, a graphical, Java-based design environment. You may use Studio's integrated tools to map out your data integrations, construct them, modify them, and even debug them.
  4. A developer may link their software to any of the hundreds of available external REST and SOAP services using Anypoint's pre-built connectors.
  5. API performance, operation, and use may be monitored with the help of Any point Analytics. This tool allows developers to analyse API performance and diagnose performance problems by generating custom charts and dashboards.
  6. The Anypoint Platform's resources in a hybrid cloud environment may be provisioned and monitored from a single pane of glass with the help of Anypoint Runtime Manager.
  7. Anypoint Exchange is a repository for APIs, templates, connectors, documentation, and other assets that a development team may share and utilise together.
  8. The Anypoint Monitoring dashboard is used to track the status of an application by its development team.
  9. An application programming interface (API) and its dependencies may be seen in real time using Anypoint Visualizer.
  10. CloudHub is an iPaaS solution that can accommodate several users simultaneously. Because CloudHub is provided as a managed service, it is unnecessary for a development team to set up or run any specialised software or hardware in order to take use of its features.

History

Established in 2006 in San Francisco, MuleSoft was created by Ross Mason. The website explains that the platform was given the moniker MuleSoft because it makes "donkey labour" of integration unnecessary. And as mules are a cross between a donkey and a horse, the name was picked to allude to the platform's own hybrid nature.

MuleSoft has received funding from several reputable investors throughout the years, including New Enterprise Associates, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Bay Partners. In 2017, the business made plans to launch an IPO.

Customers and competition

The Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society, Asics, Wells Fargo, and Siemens are just a few of the more than 1,200 clients listed on MuleSoft's website as of July 2018.

To What Extent Does MuleSoft Use Data and Technological Integration?

The data you collect and store is a crucial resource for your business. Without it, company executives had to rely on educated guesses rather than data to make choices; marketers would be talking to no one; and sales teams would have no clue who to contact. Because of this, it is essential that all groups have access to relevant data. The typical business uses 976 different programmes to store its data, making it difficult to guarantee that all employees are using the most recent versions of the software. Integration addresses this issue by bridging the gap between disparate business systems, allowing users to quickly and easily get the

relevant information they want.

So, how exactly does MuleSoft facilitate simple integration? In order to extract information from inconvenient older systems, a mix of cloud-based integration principles (iPaaS) and robotic process automation (RPA) has been developed. Customers of MuleSoft may integrate any system and have access to any data set thanks to these features working together.
