Coffee Spill? 6 Ways to Remove it from Your White Marble Kitchen Countertops

Are you a coffee lover? Well, almost everyone loves coffee, except the white marble kitchen countertops of your place. A few drops of coffee can stain it with dark brown colours. And if you accidentally spill your coffee on it, you must take care of that as soon as possible. Leaving coffee marks on your marble top can make it more stubborn and almost impossible to get rid of. Hence, you need to remove the stain on an immediate basis. And we will talk about that in the following blog post.

How to get rid of coffee stains from your beautiful white marble kitchen island?

Marble is one of the most luxurious natural stones for its timeless look and feel. But it is a porous stone, so it can absorb any liquid left on it. And if it is coffee, then you should take care of that at the earliest. And here are the steps you should try:

1. If you spill your coffee cup on your marble counter, blot up the excess liquid immediately. For that, you can use an absorbing cloth to get all the coffee off the marble. Besides that, you can also use paper towels and sponges for the work. You will get only a few minutes to do this. Otherwise, the stain will become permanent on the marble top. But make sure not to use any harsh materials on the marble to avoid it getting scratched.

2. Once the spill gets off the marble top, quickly mix a cleaning detergent and washing soda and give it a good stir. If the solution becomes too thick, you can add water to it. Washing soda is a strong whitener, it comes with stain-removal qualities. Hence, it can help you remove any colours. And adding detergent to it can make the effect stronger.

3.Now dip a clean cloth/sponge into the solution and wipe the stained area gently. But make sure that you are not spreading it all over the marble top. Rub the area slowly with the solution and it will remove the stain. You can also use it on fresh coffee stains.

But what if the stain remains? Well, this can happen when the stain is too old or the coffee is too stubborn. In that case, you can try the following:

1. Take a bowl and add a few drops of ammonia along with 1 cup of Hydrogen Peroxide. Give it a good stir until it becomes a paste. Both are quite strong stone cleaners and thus, they can help you remove the stain. Although you should wear gloves while using it.

2. Check the consistency of the solution. If it feels right, then soak a piece of soft fabric in it and put it over the stain.

3. Now place a heavy object on top of the fabric and press it. After leaving it like this at least for 10 minutes, you can take it off. The time is sufficient to pull off the coffee residue from the marble surface. But if you did not get the ultimate result, you should repeat it a couple of times.

Did you spill your morning coffee on your white marble kitchen countertops? Before it becomes too old, ensure to take care of it immediately. There are lots of ways to do so. And we hope this blog post can help you with that.
