Six connection methods for thin-walled stainless steel pipes

Stainless steel pipe is a hollow elongated round steel material, which is widely used in petroleum, chemical, medical, food, light industry, mechanical instrumentation and other industrial pipelines and mechanical structural components. Thin-walled stainless steel pipes are gradually replacing carbon steel welded steel pipes and seamless pipes in many fields

Six connection methods for thin-walled stainless steel pipes.

1. Pressure connection

First of all, you need to know that thin-walled stainless steel pipe clamping methods are divided into two types: "single clamping" and "double clamping". Double compression is the most stable connection method. Use hydraulic pliers to clamp the pipe fittings on the pipe, and use the O-ring to seal the water to achieve the connection effect. Easy to operate, good sealing, and cannot be disassembled.

2. Flange connection

The flange connection is to connect two connecting pipe fittings with flanges by tightening the bolts. The flange connection achieves its connection effect through the sealing of the flat seal. This connection method is relatively mature, has relatively high connection strength and pressure-bearing capacity, and can also be disassembled. But this relative cost is relatively high.

3. Grooved connection

The groove connection is to tighten the nut of the pipe fitting, so that the expansion convex ring pipe and the stainless steel pipe fitting are axially compressed, and the connection effect is achieved through the water stop of the tapered sealing ring. It is a pipe fitting that is easy to install and disassemble.

4. Socket welding connection

This is to insert the stainless steel pipe into the pipe fitting, and then extend the stainless steel pipe fitting in a circle for argon arc welding connection, so that the stainless steel pipe fitting will self-melt into one body. The connection is reliable and requires little maintenance. However, in the production process of socket welded stainless steel pipe fittings, the joint positions of the stainless steel pipe fittings are expanded through a water expansion process similar to the compression stainless steel pipe fittings.

5. Welded connection

Welded connections are welded by hot melt process. This type of connection has high strength, but the gas protection of the on-site welding interface is difficult to meet the standards, which may reduce the service life of the pipeline. The installation quality is highly dependent on the welder's craftsmanship, and the quality is difficult to guarantee.

6. Threaded connection

The threaded type uses stainless steel pipe fittings and stainless steel pipes to be tightened directly like screws. The two connecting parts of the inner interface and the outer interface are tightened with tapered pipe threads. It is said that it can also be tightened directly with bare hands to achieve the connection effect conveniently and quickly. Generally speaking, the connection method of threaded bolts is not suitable for the use of thin-walled stainless steel pipes.

Summarize:

The above six connection methods each have their own advantages and disadvantages, but the most commonly used connection method for thin-walled stainless steel pipes is the double-pressure connection. The double-pressure connection is the simplest, most stable and most secure connection method.
