Kalhatti Falls is one of the attractive tourist spots in Karnataka. It is also widely known as 'Kalahsti Falls'. In addition to the beautiful falls, the adjacent forest area is also well known for its natural beauty and adventure sports. Every year tourists from various places of the world throng to this spot to enjoy its mesmerising beauty. The Kalhatti Falls also has religious significance so it is also famous among the pilgrims.

The picturesque Kalhatti Falls in Karnataka is located in Kallattipura, Chikmagalur District. The Kemmangundi hill station is 10 kilometres away from Kalhatti Falls.


Attractions of Kalhatti Falls

Kalhatti Falls is a retreat for people from the hustle and bustle of the city life. This magnificent waterfall presents a fascinating view. It falls from a height of 403 feet from atop the mountains. The pristine whiteness of the falling water is excellently complemented by the greenery around it. The adjoining mountain is enriched with flora and fauna.

Taking you one step closer to nature, Kalhatti Falls has lush greenery in abundance. Here you can find various cardamom trees along with a diverse range of tropical trees, shrubs, and vines on the way to the hills.

Coming to fauna, the region is also home to a number of wildlife animals such as Elephants, Bears, Panthers, Bisons, Spotted Deer, and Monkeys. One can also come across Tigers while roaming around the area.

Although one can plan a getaway to Kalhatti Falls at any time of the year, it is always recommended to explore it during the monsoon season i.e., from July to September. At this time, the water flows at its full speed, thus encouraging tourists to take a shower under the falls.


For a refreshing and soothing experience, you can also head to this place during summer which starts in March and continues till the month of June. Although the temperature remains on the higher side at this time, the pleasant weather around the falls invites people from all over the world to visit this place.
