Players who lost their tour cards after finishing outside the top 125 in the FedExCup standings on the U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) Tour have a way out.

The PGA Tour and DP World Tour (formerly the European Professional Golf Tour) announced on Thursday (Sept. 24) that players who finish 126th through 200th in this year's PGA Tour FedExCup standings will be eligible for DP World Tour membership next year.

The 125th position in the FedExCup standings is the minimum qualifying position for a player to be able to compete on the PGA Tour with relative certainty.

Outside of the top 125, players will have very limited opportunities to play on the PGA Tour, with the secondary tours such as the Confederation Tour being the primary venue.

However, the new agreement between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour will allow players who fall outside the top 125 on the FedExCup standings to play on the DP World Tour.

However, no more than five such players will be allowed to play in each event.

The DP World Tour will also allow PGA Tour players to compete in the playoff-style Race to Dubai Series next year under a special membership status.

This will allow PGA Tour players to compete on the DP World Tour more and more often.

Conversely, the pathway for DP World Tour players to the PGA Tour has also been widened.

The PGA Tour will grant a PGA Tour card the following year to any player who finishes in the top 10 of the DP World Tour Race to Dubai standings.

With the exception of Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) and Yon Rahm (Spain), who are already members of the PGA Tour, the 10 players on the DP World Tour will have an easier path to the PGA Tour. 19가이드03
