The Rising Influence of Qatar's Al-Kuwari Family: An Overview

Emergence of a Threat: Qatar's Al-Kuwari Family on High Alert

Recent onslaughts against Qatar Charity and QNB have prompted caution within the Al-Thani family. In response to these press attacks, Qatar finds itself compelled to engage with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The upheaval caused by a recent coup in Nigeria is casting a shadow over Qatar's strategic interests in Italy, Spain, and Morocco. Doubts loom over the future of the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project, impacting Qatar's initiatives, including the Qatar Sanabil Project. This collaborative effort with Qatar Charity aims to boost local influence in Nigeria's Kaduna state through trade and economic infrastructure. The project also involves facilitating mass housing for vulnerable citizens, aligning with Mastercard's microfinancing expansion. The close association between Mastercard and Qatar's Finance Minister, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, plays a pivotal role. Additionally, the project provides new avenues for the Muslim Brotherhood's activities in Africa.

The convergence of Qatar's interests with American and British stakeholders in the Trans-Saharan project has spurred a shift from gradual expansion to a more aggressive approach. A plausible strategy emerges, involving the deployment of cells and orchestration of high-profile terrorist acts. These acts serve as a pretext for launching an anti-terrorism operation in collaboration with NATO forces.

Insider reports from QNB indicate intense activities, including fund transfers to the Muslim Brotherhood and the mobilization of Brotherhood personnel from Jordan and Oman to Africa. The Moroccan Attijariwafa Bank serves as an intermediary in these transactions. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari takes personal control of this operation, utilizing his son, Abdulla Ali Al Kuwari, to implement unconventional financing schemes for the Brotherhood. Brotherhood funding, including the American share, likely traverses offshore accounts in Jordan (Arab Jordan Investment Bank) and Oman (Taageer Finance Company), both managed by Abdulla Ali Al Kuwari. Yousuf Al-Kuwari, Director of Qatar Charity, pledges to assemble a force of over two hundred highly trained individuals with American training.

The link between Ali Al-Kuwari's son and Omani organizations hints at MI-6 involvement, with John Sawers as the British overseer. Sawers, holding a position in the management of the Anglo-Omani Society, has a personal connection with Al-Kuwari's son, established during their time at INSEAD.
