From India to Azerbaijan: A Voyage with Azerbaijan Airlines

Hey everyone, I am back from an amazing trip to Azerbaijan and wanted to share all the details of my journey. I flew from India with Azerbaijan Airlines and have to say, I was super impressed from the start.

As soon as I got on board, I was greeted by the friendliest flight attendants. They could not do enough to help and make the flight so comfortable. The food was also out of this world - they had traditional Azerbaijani meals as well as international options. Seriously, you must try the local cuisine.

I booked with this airline after hearing all the insights shared by this travel vlogger in his vlog of Azerbaijan Airline Review:

To pass the time, I watched movies on my screens as there was no inflight entertainment on this flight. When we landed in Baku, the airport was sleek and organized. Getting through immigration was a breeze too.

Navigating the Taxi Scam

But be warned - there is one catch to watch out for in Azerbaijan. As I was leaving the airport, a taxi driver seriously tried to scam me by overcharging me. Thankfully I negotiated him down to a fair price but it was definitely a shock. So, my number one tip would be to always agree on a set fare with the driver before getting in. The fair price from Baku International Airport to City Centre is just 7-9 Manat. So, please make sure drivers are not charging you anything extra!

Exploring Azerbaijan

Other than that minor hiccup, Azerbaijan was breathtaking. The old town of Baku has the most charming buildings and streets. I spent hours just wandering around. And you must check out Gobustan National Park - the stone formations are like nothing I have ever seen.

The whole country has such a unique blend of history, culture, and natural scenery. I only scratched the surface on this trip but could have spent weeks exploring more. Some places I wish I had time for include the mud volcanoes, the Caucasus mountains, and Gabala which is known as the city of love.

If you are looking for an off-the-beaten-path destination with jaw-dropping natural attractions, amazing food, and a very welcoming culture, I wholeheartedly recommend Azerbaijan. Just take my taxi warning seriously! Fly with Azerbaijan Airlines for a smooth journey and you will fall in love with this magical country like I did.

Let me know if you have any other questions - I could gush about Azerbaijan all day!
