The match against Gangwon on the 7th will be led by coaches including coach Park Won-jae.

Professional soccer K-League 1 Jeonbuk Hyundai announced the voluntary resignation of coach Dan Petrescu on the 6th.

Jeonbuk said, “Coach Petrescu fully felt responsibility for the team’s poor performance and expressed his intention to step down from leadership for the better development of Jeonbuk, and the club decided to respect the coach’s wishes.”

As a result, Coach Petrescu, who took over as the 7th coach of Jeonbuk in June of last year, decided to end his journey in Jeonbuk with the away game (0-2 loss) against Jeju United on the 3rd.

Jeonbuk, which was evaluated as one of the top two teams along with Ulsan HD, is at the bottom with 3 draws and 2 losses (3 points) in the first 5 games of the season, being the only team out of 12 to not report its first win in the league.

For the home game against Gangwon on the 7th, domestic coaches, including coach Park Won-jae, will lead the team in place of the coach's vacancy.

Jeonbuk said, “Coach Petrescu has made a smooth handover through prior communication with the domestic coaches to ensure that there are no disruptions in preparations for the game against Gangwon.”

He also said, “In order to help the team bounce back and meet the expectations of fans, we plan to appoint a successor as a coach as soon as possible, and until the head coach appointment, domestic coaches such as Park Won-jae, coach Seong-hwan Cho, and coach Eun-seong Choi will lead the team for the time being.” Meanwhile, Coach Petrescu, who was leaving Jeonbuk, said, “It was a happy time to work with the best players and fans in the best team in Asia.” He continued, “Jeonbuk is a team that needs to go to a higher place. “I am sorry for not meeting the expectations of the fans, and I am grateful for their passionate support,” he said. “I am also grateful to the club for their generous support during my tenure, as well as the players and coaching staff who believed in me and played hard.” Lastly, he said, “I will cherish my experience and time as Jeonbuk coach and my affection for the team in my heart and support Jeonbuk even when I return to my home country.”  스포츠토토맨
