

Public holiday dates are the observed date when employees get the holiday. These public holidays are observed to be celebrated on the actual day when they fall on a weekday. If these holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday than employee would normally have worked on the Saturday or Sunday, the public holiday is observed to be celebrated on the Saturday or Sunday. - New Year’s Day – Wed, Jan 1, 2025: New Zealand is one of the first countries who celebrate the New Year, on the 1st January. Often the arrival of the New Year, this beautiful day is highly celebrated with firework displays. Another New Year tradition is to plan “resolutions” for the upcoming year.

- Taranaki Anniversary Day – Mon, Mar 10, 2025: This day is the public holiday in the Taranaki region of the New Zealand. It is widely celebrated on the 2nd Monday of the March every year.
- Otago Anniversary Day – Sun, Mar 23, 2025: It is the Public Holidays 2025 NZ that is celebrated annually on the Monday closest to 23rd March. This day is celebrated to honors the settlers’ arrival in the New Zealand on 23rd March in 1848.

- Good Friday – Fri, Apr 18, 2025: Only Good Friday as well as Easter Monday are the Public Holidays 2025 NZ. Easter Sunday is not the public holiday in New Zealand, and shops can choose to open them if their local council permits them.
