Raymond Weil 50th Anniversary Watch - The Fifty

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Raymond Weil presents a distinguished chronograph, "The Fifty," powered by a restored Valjoux movement. This elegant chronograph is equipped with a Valjoux 23-6 column-wheel chronograph movement manufactured in 1976—the same year the brand was founded. More visit www.repwatcheaprice.is.

This timepiece adheres to the classic proportions of a vintage manual-winding chronograph, featuring a compact 37mm diameter stainless steel case with a thickness of 10.75mm and a bezel crafted from 18K white gold. The case combines brushed and polished finishes, is water-resistant to 50 meters, and is equipped with piston-style chronograph pushers, a large knurled crown, and curved screw-down lugs. The dial is covered with box-cut sapphire crystal, further enhancing its vintage charm.

The silver-grey segmented dial continues the design language of Raymond Weil's Millesime series. Multiple bezels, tachymeter scales, and chronograph subdials are decorated with different techniques to ensure accurate timekeeping, a core characteristic of chronographs. The dial consists of four independent sections, creating a layered, three-dimensional, and richly textured effect. The tachymeter scale bezel features a snail-grain finish paired with precise black markings; the inner layer is a grained minute track with large black baton hour markers coated with green luminescent material; further inward, the center of the dial is divided into four equal sections, alternately decorated with horizontal or vertical fluted patterns; symmetrically positioned at the center are two recessed snail-grained sub-dials, located at 9 o'clock (small seconds) and 3 o'clock (30-minute chronograph). The blued steel polished hands on the sub-dials echo the central chronograph seconds hand, while the obelisk-shaped hour and minute hands are inlaid with luminescent material.

The most captivating highlight of "The Fifty" watch is undoubtedly its Valjoux 23-6 movement, a modified version of the classic Valjoux 23 movement. This movement, featured in "The Fifty," was produced in 1976, the same year the brand was founded. Fully restored and hand-decorated, the movement employs a classic column-wheel, horizontal clutch chronograph mechanism, vibrates at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and has a 40-hour power reserve. Its exquisite craftsmanship is visible through the transparent case back. The movement's bridges and balance bridge are decorated with Geneva stripes and treated with a black ruthenium plating, creating a striking contrast with the blued steel screws. The chamfers and screw grooves are all hand-finished, clearly revealing the nine columns of the column wheel.
