PUBG Corp. has teamed with Tencent Games to launch PUBG Mobile Lite, a lightweight version of the existing PUBG Mobile game.

Though it was only just announced, the light variant of the game was launched in late July on the Google Play Store in multiple countries.

As its name suggests, PUBG Mobile Lite is a lightweight version of the game with less demanding hardware requirements.

‘Lite’ variants of existing mobile apps designed for less powerful smartphones are common in emerging markets where many users may have limited mobile connections or low-power devices.

PUBG Mobile Lite is no exception and it is now available in South America, SE Asia, South Asia, and North Africa.

According to PUBG Corp., PUBG Mobile Lite is compatible with a greater number of devices and will soon be available in North America, Central America, and Europe, as well.

PUBG Mobile Lite, a version of the popular battle royale hit designed to work with a wider range of smartphones, is out now on Google Play in “several regions” of Southeast Asia, South Asia, North Africa, and South America.

PUBG Mobile, a spinoff of the popular PC and console game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is already the world’s highest-grossing mobile game.

It earned $167M in July, according to mobile analytics firm Sensor Tower, and amassed more than 50 million daily players as of June.

This new version will likely only increase PUBG Mobile’s already huge presence, especially when it becomes more widely available.

The game will have some significant changes to help it run on less-capable hardware, as well as to encourage faster matches.

Games will be played on a smaller map that fits 60 players, down from the standard 100 players in other versions of PUBG.

PUBG Mobile is now the revenue leader among battle royale games on mobile, market research firm Sensor Tower said today.

Much of its surge has come since February, and China plays a significant role in it.

Publisher Tencent Games released PUBG Mobile in China two months ago, rebranding it as Game for Peace.

1 game in terms of revenue for three months in a row, according to Sensor Tower’s findings (which don’t include Fortnite on Android since it’s not in Google Play and excludes the myriad Android stores in China).

PUBG Mobile is free-to-play but makes money off in-app transactions like progression passes.

“China is the major driver of this growth — it has contributed almost 30% of the game’s all-time total in just two months,” Sensor Tower cofounder Alex Malafeev said over email.

The most noteworthy addition is evident by its name.

The TicWatch Pro 4G/LTE now offers cellular support exclusively to the Verizon network.

You’re able to initiate and receive calls, send and accept text messages, and access your favorite messaging apps on this smartwatch.

Whether you’re going for a quick run or lounging in the waters on a floatie, you’ll still receive all your notifications at all times.

This immediately dials 911 and broadcasts your location to preset contacts.

Besides its wireless upgrade, the RAM department also received a nice bump up from 512MB to 1GB.
