The city got its name since it was the solitary settlement of White colonizers amid a few Native American towns in the Fort Worth zone in the Texas Republic region in the 1840s.On October 14, 2005, city pioneers, referring to obstacles in pulling in businesses, reported an arrangement to have nearby citizens choose a potential name change for the town from White Settlement to West Settlement.
