The Evolution of Fashion Through the Years

Fashion is the subject studied and followed around the globe. Everyone has followed the evolution of style from 100 years. But the trends change with time and with year according to the political and environmental attitude. It turns every year and influences others. “ I have always believed that fashion was not only to make women beautiful but also to reassure them, give them confidence.” Yves Saint Laurent. This was a great saying woman always loves to follow fashion and to look beautiful at the same time. The super celeb jacket has trendy clothes, everyone looking for.

Before 19TH CENTURY

Women were made to cover up with long dresses and layers of underclothes. Because they were made to cover up, different additions to the outfit gave the different illusion of sexiness. Bustles were used to help show a woman figure. Women wore tight lace bodies in order to make them look thinner, sometimes being laced, so right make them difficult to breathe. Corsets were looked more glamorous than the high waisted. The waistline was also prominent in the dresses as the body must show up beneath the clothes. Different forms of attire also showed a woman’s status in life. It is almost the more things you had on the outfit, and the more accessories you had, the wealthier you looked.

AROUND THE 19TH CENTURY

Women were allowed to show more of their skin, and their natural body shape generations before. Corsets and bustles were the top trends followed at that time. The tight waistline with long bell-shaped skirts looked ravishing. Long shawls were there to cover themselves when gone out or for the means of respect. Long sleeves and short sleeves with the puff on arms were worn showing some skin. Long gloves were used for the sake of inappropriate contact. Undergarments were again an essential part of the dress.

THROUGHOUT THE 20TH CENTURY

The significant changes started to take place in the woman’s fashion. Early in the 1900s, women began having a less defined waistline. Dresses became shorter to help save equipment for the war efforts. That was the beginning of the end in terms of modesty in women’s fashion. Around the 1030s, women started wearing shoes that showed off their feet. This was the time when foot grooming and hygiene become the important part just because of the changes in shoe style. By the 1940s, the hemline was raised again, bringing women’s skirt to just below the knees. Around the 1960s was when women began working towards having more rights, and women’s fashion changed a bit more. Ever since 60’s women styles and trends have been changing and evolving. The 1970s brought on the hippie trends, bellbottom pants, and bright colors. They also started wearing more revealing swimsuits.

After that, a woman’s fashions have continued to change. Every 20 to 25 years of fashion repeat and introduce to a new trend in the society of style with a little twist with color or accessory. Further, in the future, trends come and end, which women will opt them for the great looks they desire.
