Getting Started with SendGrid

If you are new to SendGrid, check out this blog post for some general information on getting started with SendGrid. Let's get started!

Getting Started with SendGrid

HandySends has seen steady growth over the past few months as our presence as the SendGrid by Twilio premiere reseller in India has grown. There are many tutorials on how to migrate from other email marketing platforms to SendGrid and how to integrate SendGrid into applications, but we wanted to help our new users get up and running faster by starting off with using some of the basic features of SendGrid. Are you ready?

First, let’s talk a little bit about what SendGrid is and who it’s for. SendGrid is an email marketing platform that allows users to reliably send email. SendGrid integrates features such as CAN-SPAM regulations and IP warming to help valid email messages to get to its sender and filter out spam. Because of its scalability, SendGrid can be used for small marketing agencies all the way up to large corporations such as IndiaMart.

SendGrid Marketing Campaigns

Now, let’s take a minute to talk about some of the features that make SendGrid easy-to-use. SendGrid’s marketing campaigns allow your business to not only market to clients, but to carefully strategize announcements, promotional campaigns, newsletters, and even transactional emails such as password resets and order confirmations. SendGrid allows you to get up and running in minutes with customizable pre-built templates or to migrate existing formats or code from the ground up with its built-in code editor.

SendGrid’s Automation Capability

This year SendGrid added an automation feature that is available even in our free trial accounts. Previously we’ve heard that customers didn’t use automation because it was too expensive and too complicated to take on. With SendGrid’s easy to use interface, even non-programmers can easily set up automations in little to no time.

You can start an automation using a variety of methods—a contact joining a list, through our new Signup Forms, a simple CSV upload, or API integration. Once you’ve decided when the automation should trigger, you can specify the frequency that you want the emails to trigger, when the events stop, and how many messages to include in your campaign.

Once you’ve set up your automation, SendGrid’s performance analytics provide key stats like delivery, open, and click rates, which allow you to review and revise your automation performance. It’s a great way to learn into what resonates best with your recipients and refine your message to reach the most customers possible. Remember, getting more email into people’s inboxes means more revenue for your company. On that note, you can always find out how deliverability impacts your revenue by using SendGrid’s ROI calculator:

We hope this blog post provides the basics to get you up and running. To learn more about SendGrid features, you can visit our knowledge center at https://sendgrid.com/resources/.
