Why You Should Know About Arkansas Window Tinting Laws

Let me start this by saying that Arkansas window tinting law is pretty strict.

Under Arkansas state law, if you are caught driving with illegally tinted windows, or installing them, it is considered a Class B misdemeanor. That means the penalty is a fine of up to $1,000 and up to 90 days in jail.

You wouldn't want that, do you?

We can't stress enough how important it is to know about Arkansas window tinting law as a constituent.

So before you go and install those tints, here are a few reasons why it’s essential to know the AR window tint laws:

1. Pulled over by the police

This is the most important reason if you don't want a run-in with the police - it will make you anxious and irritated because you don't know when a simple traffic stop can lead to bigger problems.

2. Obstruct your view

The law is set to guide drivers and not just to please the lawmakers. When it comes to car tints, very dark ones may obstruct your ability to see what’s going on around you while you’re driving especially during nighttime or when the weather is bad.

3. Avoid the inconvenience of redoing the job

It's very inconvenient for you to go back and have your windows redone because of the law. If you do it the right way the first time, you'll avoid waste of time, money, and emotions.

If you're set to get your car's windows tinted, then here's what you should know about Arkansas window tint laws:

Legal tint limit for passenger vehicles:

Front Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield.
Front-seat side windows: up to 25% tint darkness allowed
Back seat side windows: up to 10% tint darkness allowed
Rear window: up to 10% tint darkness allowed

Legal tint limit for multi-purpose vehicles:

Front Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield.
Front-seat side windows: up to 25% tint darkness allowed
Back seat side windows: up to 10% tint darkness allowed
Rear window: up to 10% tint darkness allowed

Now you can ride in style and in peace when you know what's right for your vehicle.
