What Are The Essential Things You Should Know About ATT Email?

This guide will help you create an ATT.net Email user account and let you know about the benefits of using the account and the information to set up this account on your regular phone device. In addition, you will also learn to tackle some common issues with setup and the solutions to fix these kinds of problems.  

Creating a user account with Att.net Email –  

  • Firstly, go to https://currently.com/ and select the Sign-in option in the upper right corner of the window. 
  • A login screen will open, and in that window, look for the Create One Now option to create a new user account. After finding the link, click on it.
  • Next, you’ll see a dialogue box on your window. You’ve to fill in the respective filed to create your account. Note that you can either choose @currrectly. Com or @att.net for your domain. 
  • A dialogue box will open in the next window asking for your phone number, zip code, and alternative email. You’ve to fill all the respective fields to receive the verification code.
  • Enter the verification code and hit the Continue

Note - Verification code can take up to two minutes to reach, depending on the region you’re going to use this mail account from. However, if you don’t get the verification code, then click Resend Code option.  

  • Moving on further, you will have to complete your profile information and security questions and answers. 
  • Additionally, you’ll have to verify your account. 
  • Once the confirmation page appears on the window, hit continue to finish creating the account.

  • Once done with filling in your information, you’ll have to enter the service type of your account. AT&T offers two types of user account, POP3 and IMAP. These settings will define the paths and the different ways your mail account will receive and send emails to choose the one which suits you as per your preference.
  • We recommend you choose IMAP because it is more reliable and easy to use than POP3. Here’re the settings that you’ll need to set up your account as an IMAP service type.  
  1. Incoming Mail Server – imap.mail.att.net
  2. Incoming Mail Port number – 993
  3. Security Type- SSL/TLS
  4. Outgoing Mail Server – smtp.mail.att.net
  5. Outgoing Mail port number – 465
  6. Security Type- SSL/TLS  
  • But, if you choose POP3, you can set up your account with the settings given below – 
  1. Incoming server - inbound.att.net
  2. Incoming server port number- 995 
  3. Outgoing server- Outbound.att.net
  4. Outgoing server port number- 465
  5. Security type for the POP account- SSL/TLS  
  • After you’re done with settings the service type of your account, ensure to save the changes to finish the account setup.  

But if in case, somehow you’re not able to add your account, then you can try these solutions given below to fix the issue -  

  1. Check for your network connection. In case you’re using a wifi network, then try switching to mobile data.
  2. Also, if your network downloading speed is slow, you’ll face issues while logging into your account. So, if this happens, you should reconnect your device to a new network. 
  3. You’ll also need to check that if you’re working on an updated version of the OS. In case your OS isn’t updated, you can try a system update to avoid any issues. 
  4. In addition, ensure that the mobile app that you’re using to add the account is updated. For example, if you’re working on Outlook, check for its latest update in the app store. Then, update it to fix the issue. 
  5. Make sure that you’ve correctly configured your account. If there is any problem with account service type settings, then you’ll have to reconfigure your account. 
  6. You could follow these steps if you want to add your account with yahoo; because of the Yahoo and AT&T merger in the past year, Yahoo users had to migrate their accounts to AT&T.
